Combat abilities can only be used once per battle, such as the Cerebal-type Ultra Magic that causes 1.5x the damage of a regular attack. For example, the Athletic-type Frenzy ability lets them move twice as far as the number rolled and increases their stats in battle. Board game, or field, abilities can trigger randomly at the start of the turn. Friendship squares trigger conversations and interactions between students, which also grant stat increases.Įach character is one of three types - Athletic, Cerebral, or Balanced - and each has their own special abilities for the board game and combat portions of the game. Event squares trigger random events, with options that change the outcome of the event and potential stat increases from it. Battle squares start turn-based combat against Monobeasts, with victory awarding experience and currency and a loss putting players back to the beginning of the board.
